National Council Meeting, November 2005

The National Council met in Springfield, MA at the Marriott on November 10-12, 2005.  Between meetings, several attendees took time to visit the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center in Hartford to perform for the patients.
In the lobby before the evening show, many performers (including Chuck Lehr, l) perform close-up.
Elsewhere in the lobby, David Xanatos (webmaster for National’s website) chats while Jay Ungar autographs his new book.

"Backstage" at the evening show.  #21 members Michael Michaels (3rd from right), and Robert Killian were part of the bill.  Providing support were Dana Ring on spotlight and Dan Sclare on Sound Board.
Stamford S.Y.M. holiday party
Stamford has a thriving SYM assembly led by PNP Bill Andrews  This year, Mr. Andrews was kind enough to invite me and my SYM group to attend their holiday party on December 10.  Only one my wizards was able to come, so I drove the both of us down the Merrit Parkway on an early Saturday morning.
William, from West Hartford, was able to show off his skills as well as watch other kids in the close-up walkaround session before the buffet lunch.  That was followed by the stage show in another room.
The multi-talented Kayla Drescher produces a fountain of silks......and plays a sax that she just produced from a foulard.
Called onstage as a volunteer, William makes the mistake of lending a magician money.
